What is an FFL dealer?

A Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) is a business licensed by the ATF to deal in firearms. When you buy a firearm online, federal law requires it to be transferred through a licensed FFL dealer in your state.

The Transfer Process
1

Agree the sale

Agree the price and terms with the seller through GunMister messages.

2

Seller Ships to Your FFL

Share your chosen FFL dealer's details with the seller, who ships directly to them.

3

Dealer Contacts You

Your FFL dealer receives the firearm and notifies you that it has arrived.

4

Complete the Transfer

Visit the FFL dealer, complete the ATF Form 4473, pass the background check, and take home your firearm.
