This is the kind of pistol that only leaves the SIG Mastershop a few at a time. The P226 X-Five PPC Open takes the X-Five platform and pushes it into full race trim, built for the precision pistol disciplines where a tenth of a point decides the match. Everything about it is purpose driven, from the frame-mounted optic bridge to the compensated barrel poking out the front.

Start with that scope bridge. It's a stainless frame mount that ties directly to the receiver, not the slide, so the Aimpoint Micro red dot stays dead still while the slide cycles underneath it. That's the whole point of an Open gun. The dot never moves, and your tracking stays flat shot to shot. The mount carries a charging handle up top as well, giving you a positive grip for racking the slide with the optic in place.

The metalwork is all brushed stainless, with a matte bead-blasted finish across the frame and slide that cuts glare under range lights. The slide wears wide cocking serrations front and rear. Up front, the barrel runs into a ported compensator with slotted gas ports to tame muzzle rise. Look at the grip and you'll find aggressive black stippled panels over the SIG Sauer logo, paired with an extended magazine funnel and a generous beavertail that lets you ride the gun high.

The trigger sits in single action with a flat competition shoe, and the controls run a SAO race setup. A long sight radius and the frame-fixed dot make this a gun built to print small groups at speed.

This one comes with its factory box and the paperwork, including the manual and the factory test target. For a shooter who wants a German-built Open gun with Mastershop pedigree, or a collector who appreciates how few of these were assembled, this checks both boxes. It's a competition tool and a piece of SIG's custom shop history in one package.
